TEHNOPOLIS Science and Technology Park Iași has been supporting the development of the local business environment since 2004 by offering legal and financial business consultancy, access to European funds, internationalization, digitization and sustainability through the Eastern Romania Business Support Network project. Tehnopolis offers for rent office spaces, production spaces, conference or exh ibition rooms, research and development laboratories.

TEHNOPOLIS Science and Technology Park supports recently established companies through its business incubator that has been operating since 2007, and until now approximately 60 economic agents have been incubated.
Since our business incubator carries out its activity within a scientific and technological park, it is necessary that the incubated companies have a component of the activity focused on innovation or on achieving technological transfer. Particularly for the companies that want to be incubated here, the areas of activity established within TEHNOPOLIS must also be taken into account: information technology, audio-visual industry, bio-technologies and food industry.
Through the incubator, TEHNOPOLIS offers the following free services:
- Consultancy in the preparation of the business plan
- Accounting consultancy: drawing up the first invoices, legislative, financial indications
- PSI consultancy: preparation of data sheets and training of employees
- IT consultancy
- Legal consultancy: assistance in drawing up contractual documents, making available the legislation in force in Romania and the European Union, offering legal advice
- Marketing consultancy: creating an image, helping with promotion campaigns, suggestions on packaging, contacting advertising companies
- Facilitating the contract of companies in the Incubator for building business relationships
- Provision of seminar and conference rooms
- Possibility of setting up a stand to present the company and its products in the lobby of the Nucleus building
- Presentation of companies within the Incubator and their products at all fairs, seminars, brokerages, events to which Tehnopolis participates or is invited
- Consultancy for the internationalization of services/products through the “Enterprise Europe Network” network
- Notifying the incubated companies about the latest course programs in various fields, about conferences with a fixed theme or networking events on a local, national or international level
- Various office automation activities, document storage and secretarial activities.

INTELECTRO is a Romanian SME founded in 2009 as a Technical University Gheorghe Asachi of Iasi spin off company, acting in field of applied research for printed sensors development, IT/signal processing, sensors and wireless sensor networks. The research experience of the company can be resumed as 14 research projects, 2 patents and more than 20 scientific article published by the INTELECTRO employs.

The INTELECTRO team getter together 15 people, and is mostly composed from highly skilled people, most of them with a PhD degree in engineering (electrical engineering, electronics, chemistry) and with a large experience in research.

North-East Regional Development Agency is a non-governmental organization of public utility, generator of economic and social growth in the region. North-East RDA elaborates and promotes regional development strategies, attracts resources, identifies, manages and implements financing programs, and provides services for a sustainable stimulation of economic growth, international partnerships and entrepreneurship.

The Agency is the only Managing Authority of European Funds in North-East Romania, in charge with the Regional Operational Program 2020-2027 (Regio Nord-Est).

North-East RDA elaborates and implements the Strategy of Research and Innovation for Smart Specialization of North-East Romania (RIS3 North-East), being also the executive coordinator of the Regional Innovation Board (governance body of RIS3 North-East) and the regional Academic Advisory Committee.

RIS3 North-East relies on the process of entrepreneurial discovery, through which priorities of investment for innovation are identified and creative solutions are developed, combining assets and fostering collaboration among various types of entities. This process revolves around companies that can identify new business and market opportunities, develop new products, services, and processes in areas with high innovation potential. Moving along this line, seven sectors with significant competitive potential have been identified in the region, with a critical mass of solid enterprises whose achievements can be further maximized by means of innovation. Thus, agri-food & wood industry, textiles, environment, energy, IT&C, health, and tourism can be considered key sectors for a sustainable development through smart specialization in North-East Romania.
RIS3 North-East intervenes in the following directions:
- Development of innovation skills and competences;
- Supporting the creation of new innovative companies, the growth of active enterprises, and the digitalization of public administration;
- Developing the regional R&D capacity and promoting collaboration between knowledge organisations and industry;
- Support clustering and internationalization initiatives;

CARE
Rouen University Hospital, anchored at the heart of the Rouen Normandy Health Campus, forms a central pillar of the region’s healthcare system. It encompasses an extensive network of medical establishments that are an integral part of its infrastructure. These 5 establishments are the Charles-Nicolle, Bois-Guillaume, Saint Julien, Boucicaut and Oissel hospitals.
TEACHING
Our doctors train future doctors, pharmacists and dentists in the various departments of the Rouen CHU.
Students in paramedical care and midwifery also undertake placements supervised by professionals in the CHU’s care departments.
Doctors and paramedics also give courses:
-at the UFR Santé (Health research training unit ) for medical, dental and pharmacy students,
-at the Espace régional de formation des professions de santé(ERFPS) (Regional training area for healthcare professionals) for paramedical and midwifery students,
-the Medical Training Centre (MTC) for healthcare professionals, doctors and paramedics, undergoing initial and continuing training. This teaching is based on innovative healthcare simulation techniques.
RESEARCH
At the CHU, clinical research is promoted as an inseparable element of care, with regional, national and even international influence in its disciplines of excellence.
PREVENTION
The medical and nursing teams at Rouen University Hospital organise numerous prevention days and initiatives.
Throughout the year, during our prevention activities, we address a number of major public health issues: cancer, organ donation, heart murmurs, obesity, cardiac arrest, etc.
BEING A REFERENCE HEALTHCARE ESTABLISHMENT – RHE = (Établissement de santé de référence – ESR)
Rouen University Hospital is a reference healthcare establishment within a defense and security zone (30th December 2005 decree – a zonal organisation was set up based on the military division of France, in the form of defense and security zones, which are under the responsibility of the Regional Health Agencies (Agence Régionale de Santé – ARS) of the defense and security zones.
Each zone has at least one Reference Healthcare Establishment.
Rouen University Hospital is part of the western defense and security zone, which comprises 4 Regions and 20 Sub-Regions, or 25% of France’s territory and 20% of its population.
The zone has been divided into 2 “sub-zones”, each comprising a Reference Health Establishment and a NRBC (Nuclear, Radiological, Biologic, Chemical) mission: Rouen University Hospital and Rennes University Hospital.
The Rouen University Hospital’s NRBC mission covers the Normandy and Centre regions (11 sub-regions) and the Rennes University Hospital’s NRBC mission covers the French-Brittany and Pays de la Loire regions (9 sub-regions).
WHAT IS A REFERENCE HEALTHCARE ESTABLISHMENT ?
It is a major element in the response to exceptional health situations – EHS (Situation Sanitaire Exceptionnelles – SSE). In accordance with decree no. 2005-1764 of 30 December 2005, each EHS has a : Emergency Medical Service, Emergency Department, Infectious Diseases Department with negative pressure isolation rooms, Intensive Care Department with isolation rooms, Paediatrics Department with negative pressure isolation rooms, Nuclear Medicine Department, Laboratory with “L3” containment level, Helicopter landing area.
These EHSs benefit from specific human resources: NRBC missions comprising one or two doctors depending on the defense zone, a health executive and a pharmacist.

TIA is a network of members and stakeholders from over 250 ambitious tech-producing and tech-enabled organisations across the South-West Region in Ireland. TIA are one of the largest industry clusters in Ireland. Their community includes startups, scale-ups, multinational companies, academia, and public sector organisations. Through their connected ecosystem, they are supporting and creating a vibrant region where people, ideas and enterprises can thrive.
MTU aims to work with our associate partner IT@Cork (renamed Tech Industry Alliance), to begin to prepare for the task objectives. The BI4E project will learn how the TIA and MTU collaboration emerged, and will specifically work together to provide assistance on how to develop sectoral organisations with close university ties, which facilitate the enterprise and innovation interactions between the university and the sector.

The Rubicon Centre is Munster Technological University’s on-campus incubator in Cork supporting entrepreneurs and start-ups with innovative product, service or technology ideas located at MTU’s Bishopstown Campus, Cork. The Rubicon Centre supports entrepreneurs to start, accelerate and grow their business in a purpose-built 2,000m² on-campus facility. The experienced team of start-up professionals and advisors supported 500 businesses over the last 10 years. Clients based at the incubators are at different stages of development, from the initial concept stage to completing their first customer orders and many are already trading on international markets. Rubicon Centre is a catalyst for regional development, assisting entrepreneurs to take their projects to the next stage. Client companies enjoy access to support for the full development cycle and can participate in one of the many programmes on offer in the centre.
The Rubicon Centre assists the formation and growth of early-stage, knowledge-intensive businesses, by providing physical space and in-house management support, along with access to business advice (sales and marketing, administration, tax, funding, legal, etc.) in addition to access to MTU expertise and resources.
The MTU Rubicon Centre will be working with the BI4E project to share good practices with partners on how it offers wide-ranging entrepreneurial supports and programmes to its students, staff, and especially emerging external entrepreneurs within its region of Southwest Ireland.
